Regional power and siting hub
Texas
Texas offers multiple development paths, but requests inside the ERCOT region must be read through the grid operator’s large-load integration process. ERCOT publishes the process and requirements for connecting large loads; a request or study position does not establish that a site is operating, approved for full service or backed by firm capacity. The decision point is whether generation, transmission, interconnection studies and customer construction can converge on the same schedule. Sites with credible power milestones and flexible operating plans gain leverage. Projects marketed from headline queue totals, without evidence of study progress or energization, carry the greatest execution risk.
Constraint to resolve
Aligning large-load studies, transmission readiness, generation adequacy and customer construction before energization.
What to watch
- ERCOT large-load integration requirements and process changes
- Study, transmission and substation milestones for a specific site
- The distinction among requested load, approved service and measured demand
