Texas large-load queue
A historical ERCOT snapshot of large-load applications through 2033, separated by project stage.
Historical snapshot as of 2026-04-26, reviewed 2026-09-06. This page does not claim to show the current queue. Applications include uncertain projects and do not equal realized demand.
445.8 GW of applications in this snapshot
| Stage | GW |
|---|---|
| No studies | 321 |
| Under review | 93.7 |
| Section 9.5 requirements met | 22 |
| Observed energized | 5.9 |
| Approved, not operational | 3.2 |
What the queue can tell a developer
The largest application bucket has no studies. That separates early requests from projects closer to grid delivery, but does not assign a completion probability. Watch study progress, required network work and the gap between approval and operation.
ERCOT’s observed energized measure uses non-simultaneous peaks for fully operational approved loads. It must not be added to, or compared directly with, the simultaneous EIA hourly grid-demand series.
